Living-Room-Productions Berlin presents a European Premiere by Daniel Sauermilch, N. Y. :
“Afghan Love”;
preceded by a presentation of poems by Leonard Peltier
In Sauermilch's plays, Woody Allen meets Yasmina Reza in style: the mask of political correctness is being stripped from the faces of the established and the well-fed. In turns lovingly and mercilessly comical, Sauermilch attempts to show us the mirror, until we are not sure with whom to identify anymore – the eager idealist who wants to dive deep into the philosophy of the neglected, or the philanthropists who want to help with money to gain enrichment of their own souls - and business.
As a contrasting preface to the play, LRP Berlin presents the strong poetry of the Native American activist Leonard Peltier from his book “Prison Writings”. Imprisoned on much doubted charges since 39 years, the 70-year-old at present enters an important phase of his legal struggle. As an artist, he addresses the same topic in his paintings and writings: the injustice suffered not only by himself but also by a lot of underprivileged members of his own people, to this day. While pertaining to a deep sense of artistic expression, his work is as direct and realistic as his environment and living conditions suggest. This year marks the preparations for a much regarded legal attempt to set him free.

THE RWANDANS' VISIT
by Daniel Sauermilch
Albee meets Polanski in this urban tale, or “Who is afraid of Carnage?”
Two couples meet for a friendly drink in a cozy apartment in Prospect Park. Their liberal and politically correct views receive blow after blow as the evening takes unprecedented twists and turns which reveal the true personae hidden behind a veil of righteousness.
JUNE WEDDINGS
by Barbara Hammond
In a darkened bar in Washington Heights, two people meet who have long settled in their solitary lives.
Subtly and truthseeking, Hammond depicts how a random encounter can turn into an actual meeting of two souls, even if just for a moment in time.

3 one act plays
by yair packer
an English Berlin Premiere
Between the poles of distance and attraction, Yair Packers characters dance around each other, both in likely and not so likely situations; written by life itself.
Two neighbours seemingly unified by grief find themselves vying for the love of a deceased in “Norma's Scent”; a suitcase with surprising content sets a married couple on an emotional roller-coaster in “A Dress for the Wedding” and a suicidal banker meets fate in an encounter with someone he would have completely ignored in everyday life. (“Jumping Jasper”).
